Bustard

Bustard feathers are a complicated topic. The word can mean many things as there are different species. Almost all of them are useable in flydressing. However, they are also protected and on the CITES list. Speckeld Bustard is called for in lots of patterns; the most common being however, the African Kori Bustard. In the picture below you will see examples of four different species.but only four. Except for two cases. (the Denham and some other unknown in the right lower corner ) and the piece at the top (Florican) all the others are from the Kori. It is still possible to buy this feathers sometimes, but you have to own a Bank -the cost from 200Usd and up to 8-900Usd. Substitute Turkey instead-it's much cheaper and you can find a lot's of different shades. When you pick out a few fibres for use in winging, there is no big different between Turkey and Bustard. The picture below the Bustard shows different colors of Turkey . click if you want to see some more nice colors of Bustard.
