This nice creation is from start a pattern that comes from mr Blacker, but he have for some reason choice to show the Ballyshannon as the fly for Shannon. There are several different variations of this fly as of almost all popular ones. Some dresser was using yellow hackle instead of the Macaw feathers, and Fitzgibbon had orange silk and sealsfur as tag and the body was splitted in just two sections, first of light orange silk and secon of blue silk, all ribbed with broad silver, gold twist and a stripped light blue cock hackle fronted with jay and a Topping wing.
